ADVANCED LEADERSHIP PATHWAY
Youth Don’t “Age Out” — They Advance.
At Moore Than Athletics (MTA), leadership isn’t a title—it’s a pathway. After youth complete the MTA Growth Model phases, they step into earned leadership roles that build confidence, responsibility, service hours, and real-world experience.
A structured progression from participant → leader → mentor.
What Is the Advanced Leadership Pathway?
The Advanced Leadership Pathway is MTA’s next-step progression for youth who have completed the core growth phases and are ready for deeper responsibility. Instead of graduating out of the program, youth level up into roles that strengthen the culture, support younger participants, and build leadership through service.
This pathway helps youth develop:
- leadership identity and presence
- consistency and accountability
- communication and teamwork under pressure
- service hours and community contribution
- experience that prepares them for high school, college, and career

PROGRAM STANDARDS & OPPORTUNITIES
HOW YOUTH EARN ADVANCEMENT
Advancement is based on growth—not popularity. Youth earn leadership roles through:
- consistent participation and coachability
- strong character and respect
- completion of growth milestones and reflections
- service contribution and teamwork
- readiness and staff approval
SERVICE HOURS THAT BUILD LEADERS
Youth earn verified service hours through leadership roles, outreach events, and service projects. Hours are tracked through participation logs, staff verification, and portfolio reflection.
Examples include:
- supporting younger youth at events
- assisting with stations and setup/teardown
- youth-led outreach initiatives
- community service projects and charity events
WHY MTA'S PATHWAY IS DIFFERENT
When youth finish phases, they need a next step that increases responsibility and influence. Most youth programs end when youth “age out.”
MTA is designed to multiply leadership—so youth become part of the mission, not just recipients of it.
This pathway turns completion into contribution—so youth strengthen the program while building their own leadership portfolio.
READY TO JOIN THE PATHWAY?
Whether your child is just starting or ready to step into leadership, MTA provides structure, support, and a clear progression system that grows with them.
